Moving On to 56 and "Mature Skin"

I have what is now referred to as “mature skin”. What this means is that I am no longer free to ignore it as I did in my 20’s and 30’s. Today I am a believer in the essential use of organics, be they ingested or applied to your skin.
How many times do we look back at products used by our mothers or us as kids or young women and wonder what happened to so many of them? When was the last time you read the label on your favorite beauty product and even understood what was in it?
MSN published a version of this post regarding toxic ingredients in beauty products. This article on blisstree.com is very similar and for those attempting to maintain their beauty an essential read.
If that isn’t enough to bother you then please read on:
I understand as a cook there are some essential ingredients I want to have on-hand in my kitchen to ensure I can make a delectable dish. And if you’re serious about caring for your “mature skin” then there are some beneficial ingredients you’ll want to tuck away in a favorite cupboard:
Colloidal Oatmeal
Rosewater
Glycerin
Chamomile
Fennel
Lavender
Calendula
Honey
Coconut Oil
Extra-virgin Olive Oil
Rose Hips
Facial Cleaners such as Avalon or Jason Organics
This list is a great start; the ingredients are gentle, non-abrasive and “artificial fragrance free”. Yes I did say artificial fragrance free and keep a bottle of pure (not tap) water for rinsing and a small bottle for sprit-zing. I would also recommend that you purchase a coffee grinder or a small blender just for blending your products.
Ask yourself how much you spend every year on products and then consider how much you might save by cleansing the right way today.  Next post “Let’s Start Cooking”.

Who Are You?

You will not find my name connected with social media. I don’t enjoy the people who feel safe sitting behind the anonymity of a computer to slam others opinions be it the famous, the politician, religious convictions or just to poke fun at someone who happened to be in the sight of the cellphone lens. And what is it about our looks that draws so much attention. And beyond that young, old skinny, obese, no butt, big butt, smart, dumb. I've resurrected this blog twice, mostly to work through my own pangs of love, relationships, children, work, ah the things that made me go hmmm... So lets go on an adventure from fifty to sixty, hold on it might be a bumpy ride.

So You Long To Be Married. You Are Not Ready!

This blog is dedicated to all of you that have been struggling for a short time or a long time to grab the golden ring, or white gold even platinum if you will. But are you ready. Relationships are a lovely thing, hey love is a lovely thing, but by itself it means nothing. So here is how you know you are not ready. You've never successfully lived on your own. You want someone to take care of you. You allow someone else to clean up after you. Better yet cleaning isn't important or it's just a chore. You don't even take care of the few thing you have. You have no idea how to develop and maintain a budget. You're always in debt, bills get paid late or not at all. When you do spend money it's on stuff you gotta have, like clothes instead of food, even though you have a crap load of clothes, which you leave laying around in piles. And when you buy food, really you're already a slob now you're going to put that crap in your body. You think it's
